ethan hoskins (b. 2001) is a multidisciplinary artist based in baltimore md. He studied at brown university and the rhode island school of design. Influenced by abstract expressionism, renaissance drawing, memes, du bois and the matrix, he uses mixed media painting to document his life. hoskins moves quickly, so his work serves as an immediate response to developments in his life or as cultural observation. He destabilizes material hierarchies and cultural associations either because it’s compelling aesthetically and conceptually, or because it’s funny. tldr, he makes what interests him.
