Grace Martin is a 26-year-old crochet artist based in San Francisco. Originally from Southern California, she moved to the Bay Area to study Apparel Design, where she was introduced to the environmental impact of one of the world’s biggest polluters: the fashion industry. Her love for fashion remained, but she began questioning how it could be created more intentionally, sustainably, and meaningfully.

Six years ago, Grace turned to crochet. What began with beanies has evolved into an ever-expanding practice of wearable art, accessories, home décor, and sculptural hanging pieces. Her work has been shown at markets, vending events, and art shows, continually pushing the boundaries of what crochet can be.

Crochet is a uniquely hands-on medium—each stitch is made by hand, one at a time. Grace takes pride in the slow, tactile process and embraces the trial-and-error that comes with it. Through experimentation, she creates unexpected shapes, textures, and forms, resulting in truly one-of-one pieces that blur the line between fashion, craft, and art.  At its core, her work is about making things meant to last—pieces that feel personal, playful, and worth keeping forever.
